The Master Beast

A traditional collection of spells normally attributed to Myanar, filius Merinita. However this copy like most modern examples, bears little resemblance to Myanar's original collection.
Copy made by Saskia Apera discipula Franzienis, on goat patchment with gall ink. Maga Saskia brought this Grimoire from Commune Priscus, the Winter Covenant of her apprenticeship, and deposited it in the library.
The book is crudely but robustly bound with oak covered with wolfskin. This contains spells usable by any Magus but which are generally more useful to shape-changing Magi.
This book is in a mixture of Latin and German.

Shape-Change Grimoire

This is a Latin Grimoire of shape-change spells from a personal collection copied by Joachim discipula Franzienis.

The composition of the book varies considerably due to use, where possible, of the parchment of the animal in question, and ink made from its blood to write each spell. Whereas enormous attention has been lavished on this volume, it is of indifferent quality. It has recently and hurriedly been bound in leather-covered boards.

Most spells are in two variants. There is the Bjornär personal variant (which requires no casting tool) and a touch range variant that does require a casting tool. The casting tool is necessary for the touch range variant to allow the target to dispel the spell. The personal range variant may not be dispelled in this way, and accordingly is generally only used by Bjornär magi who are able to return their normal form by Will Over Form.

These are all MuCo spells and can normally only be cast on humans. However Bjornär magi are able to find the human within themselves in any form by exercising Will Over Form and hence may cast these spells on themselves even in animal form (albeit it is not easy without words or gestures).

Touch variants:-
Each requires a casting tools that is made from the target animal. All the spells can be end by the target at will.

Magus Urgen's Grimoire

This was the personal Grimoire of the Bjornär Magus Urgen. All the spells included are of his design and are all written in German. This copy was made by Luchs, filia Urgen. It is on excellent vellum and written in gall ink, with a finely embossed seal-skin binding. However the volume has suffered past mishandling and seems very incomplete, consisting of only three spells.

The Essential Quæsitor

Copy made at Petrusca by an unnamed scribe with a very clear hand. Written in black ink on re-used parchment and bound with leather over wooden boards.
In Latin

Mastery of Images

Copy made by Speculor during his apprenticeship; on parchment bound with embossed leather over wooden boards and fastened with a simple metal clasp.
In Latin

Magic on Magic

A well-worn volume bound in leather over wooden boards and written clearly in red and black inks on parchment which is a turning a little brittle in places.
In Latin.
