Added icons to mark House Rules and rule Clarifications.

Errata All the errata applied between the first and second printings of Ars Magica 4th Edition apply. Extra Virtues and Flaws Campaign generated virtues and flaws, plus those from the supplements. Books Translation between languages is defined by House Rule. Read and Write need both Scribe Alphabet and Speak Language Scribe is defined as Scribe Alphabet, but you need Speak Language for understanding. Spell Penetration & Enchanted Devices All Spell- and Effect-Penetration Totals are reduced by Spell (Effect) Level. Devices: Form & Effect Bonuses apply up to the limit of Magic Theory. Potion penetration defined, and new potion forms. Changes to the Spell Guidelines Changes to guidelines with Instant duration, changes to Perdo Imaginem We are in the process of taking on the modified Guidelines from Mythic Perspectives #6. (We already use the MuCo(An) rules). Changes to Spells Minor corrections to various spells. (New spells are listed in the library). See also the clarifications page.

Changes to the Spell Guidelines and to the list of Spells in the ArM4 book:

• Various small changes or corrections to the standard spells.
• A discussion of guidelines for Range and Target.
• Changes to Perdo Imaginem to make Invisibility harder and less commonplace.
• Changes to Instant duration, such that only Creo spells need Instant duration, to reflect natural objects created with Vis which may not be dispelled. Other Techniques with enduring effects are either Permanent (and may be dispelled), or Momentary (but may leave lasting secondary effects).
  
  All Perdo guidelines therefore offer Momentary effects. Momentary destruction spells still leave destroyed objects in their wake, but the spell target may "heal" naturally (if possible). Extending the duration of a Perdo effect prevents regeneration while the spell lasts, unless the spell can be overcome.

Other changes to Spells and Spell Effects

• That the Images of objects (affected by Perdo Imaginem) "heal" or regenerate almost immediately when the Perdo effect expires, thus Momentary Perdo Imaginem is of little use except to break or dispel other Imaginem spells.
• A loose framework correlating spell Range and Target as "the Range should reach most of the Target area". New spells should ideally conform to this, although there are exceptions, especially among the spells in the Ars Magica book
