Spell Range and Target Rules - La Roche Caribet

"The Range should reach most of the Target area"

I suggest a loose framework correlating Range and Target as "the Range should reach most of the Target area".

New spells should ideally conform to this, although there are exceptions, especially among the existing spells in the Ars Magica book

Target	suggested minimum Range
Small	Touch
Individual	Personal
Group	Reach or Near - depending on size of group
Room	Near
Circle	Touch - you physically scribe the circle
Structure	Near
Boundary	Far
Sight	Sight

There are exceptions for certain sorts of spells, especially taken advantage of by the ArM4 book itself: these are typically on the lines of "the Target around *me* (Personal)".

David Chart's explanation is that it is sufficient for the Range of a spell to reach the edge of the target area, or any part of it. This seems inadequate to me and Ian.
