At the end of July, the Sarzon brothers (two of the Covenant's three Carpenters) absconded with tools, laboratory equipment, and anything else valuable seeming and mobile: all that they had stolen and accumulated since their arrival. Jehan the Vilicus carried responsibility for their behaviour, and punishing them afterwards: his Summer Journal contains notes on events occurring over the whole Summer, and especially this period.
We have a direct account from Maga Saskia Apera, who was forced to pursue and arrest the treacherously thievish Carpenters, and an indirect tale from Speranda filia Laurentii.
